This new classroom based course (which is an interim course) lasting 3.5 hours, enables the police to target the newness, ignorance, unawareness and unintentional behaviour that can be reasonably associated with the enforcement of 20 MPH zones/limits.

This process of introducing the NSAC 20 will involve a phased programme commencing in August 2013, and concluding with the roll-out of the national course in January 2014, for the adoption by the police forces of England, Wales and Northern Ireland should they so desire. The interim course will last for 2-3 years from the date of introduction.  Full evaluation of the course is also being undertaken.
